Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 2026

The Federal Ministry of Defence is committed to ensuring that the Personnel Management System is usable by every authorised member of staff, including those with visual, motor, hearing or cognitive impairments.

Our approach

  • We design interfaces to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA where feasible.
  • All interactive controls are reachable by keyboard; focus states are visible and follow a logical order.
  • Colour is not the sole means of conveying information — status badges include text labels and iconography.
  • Images that convey information carry meaningful alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Forms use associated labels, inline validation, and clear error messages.
  • Typography uses adequate contrast and scales with browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is treated as a continuous concern rather than a one-off audit. New screens are reviewed against WCAG criteria before release, and remediations are prioritised alongside functional work.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier to accessing any part of the system, please raise it through the MOD IT Helpdesk via your unit system administrator. Include the URL, the assistive technology in use, and a short description of the barrier so that we can reproduce and address it.
